Howard Stern ‘Pretty Sure’ He’s Leaving Sirius

It sounds like more shock jock posturing, but Howard Stern told his satellite radio listeners on Thursday that he is “pretty sure” he will leave Sirius XM when his five-year, $500 million contract expires at the end of the year.


Stern said he’s not leaving the radio business, though, “hinting towards a possible mobile application and a low monthly fee,” according to a report by Orbitcast, a website that covers the satellite radio industry. As the Orbitcast noted, it was “some of the strongest language” used by Stern this year when talking about his future plans.


Browns Lose Rookie RB In 13-10 Win Over Bears

Cleveland’s highly touted rookie running back, whose career at Tennessee was slowed by knee injuries, hurt his left one in the second quarter Thursday night in a 13-10 win over the Chicago Bears, a potentially major blow to the Browns’ offense.


Roethlisberger Suspension Reduced To Four Games

Ben Roethlisberger’s suspension has been cut from six games to four by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.


The Pittsburgh Steelers’ star quarterback met with Goodell early Friday and was told he could return on Oct. 17 against Cleveland.


Roethlisberger was suspended in April for violating the league’s personal conduct policy, but Goodell said at the time he would review the player’s behavior over the next few months. Goodell was satisfied that the quarterback has followed the league’s guidelines and stayed out of trouble.


Obama Promises New Jobs Initiatives, Slams GOP

President Obama went on the offensive Friday on the politically critical issue of job creation, promising to lay out a broad package of ideas next week and slamming Senate Republicans for blocking passage of his administration’s small business aid legislation.


Obama renewed his call for the languishing bill in the wake of Friday’s release of new unemployment figures. The jobless rate, according to the Labor Department, rose from 9.5 percent to 9.6 percent in August.


Kutcher Slams Tabloid Over Cheating Story

Ashton Kutcher and his legal team have taken aim at a tabloid after it published a cover story claiming he cheated on his wife, Demi Moore.


On Wednesday, the actor hit his Twitter account to lash out at Star magazine, which claimed in its latest issue that the celebrity couple’s marriage “is in danger of falling apart” because the mag claimed the actor was allegedly “caught cheating with a sexy, young, 20-something.”
